Fresh 48 Newborn Photography | Flower Herbal Bath Mommy & Baby
The very next morning after Harlow’s late night arrival, I returned to Jennifer’s and began to photograph just what they were doing. Her room was so calm and welcoming. She was nursing the baby as I opened the door so I immediately began to shoot the two of them. You could feel all of the oxytocin in the room, it was beautifully intoxicating. I walked around and documented them as the sun rose and they saw each other in daylight for the first time ever . It’s pretty amazing to watch a family grow before your eyes. After some time with just the two, Jennifer invited two of her boys in to say good morning to their brand new baby sister. Their smiles were contagious as they giggled over her tiny features and little noises. The first morning with Harlow was amazing.
A few days later I visited again, and Harlow had changed so much already! Jennifer agreed to do a flower bath with Harlow as she was not able to have the home water birth she wanted, so I thought this was a pretty sweet and unique way to make up for that missed opportunity. Harlow did not make a sound when she laid in the bath with her mom for the first time. She was so content, and nursed some too. I picked flowers from Jennifer’s garden and some lavender too. I put them in the bath and the aroma was just amazing. It wasn’t until after we did the bath photos that Jennifer realized this was Harlow’s first bath in life and she was so happy she got to have an amazing and unique first bath!
